The people that joined the ride
A racing bike is made for fast cycling. You make use of the narrow tyres to roll over the smooth asphalt with little resistance. Race bikes have curved handlebars, are lightweight and therefore very efficient.
From a group ride to a solo lap, or perhaps a hardcore race, with a race bike you can always have fun and visit places you have never been before. It is a social sport. A bike ride is the perfect way to catch up, network or meet new people. And this while the kilometres are slipping under your wheels. Anyone can start cycling. Unlike running, you can never be 'really bad' at cycling and you will not have the problem of panting along the side after a few minutes. Cycling can give you a huge base condition.
