Jorine Pastoor had been cycling around on her sister's old racing bike for some time, when her new employer started a bike plan. She was dedicated to join and chose a brand-new racing bike, this time in just her size. “I don't necessarily have to be the best or fastest on the racing bike. It's all about freedom to me. I love bike rides to the city of Elburg with my boyfriend and dog.”
Jorine Pastoor lives on a farm in Biddinghuizen. The rural location inspires her to regularly seek out for nature. Preferably by racing bike, just like her avid cyclist boyfriend. She toured around on her sister's old racing bike for a year, when her new employer De Jong & Laan started a bike plan, just to her likes. “I was already thinking about buying a new racing bike. My sister's old one was a bit small after all. So the bike plan came at just the right time. Buying a racing bike yourself is quite expensive and thanks to the tax benefts of the bike plan it turned out a lot cheaper. You just pay a small monthly fee.”

Jorine first went to various bike shops for preliminary research, because her new bicycle had to be completely to her likings. Once found, she registered with her employer's bike plan. Within 3 weeks she had her bike: a beautiful Scott, completely adjusted to size. “I drive about 150 kilometers per month. I ride my bike after work and during the weekends. Usually I cycle with my boyfriend, but the dog will soon be joining me too. I have already bought a bicycle trailer.” Her favorite bike ride is a roundtrip to Elburg or Harderwijk, with quite a few kilometers along the beautiful Veluwemeer. Discovering the Netherlands or France from the bike is something Jorine would like.
Although she notices that cycling makes her fitter, she doesn't cycle for that reason. “It is the freedom that attracts me. You can go anywhere from where I live. And then grab a terrace along the way.” She does not take the racing bike to the office; the distance is too short for that. “Before I can put on my cycling outfit, I'm already there.” Still, she feels a bit like a bicycle ambassador. “The bike plan within my company is very popular, but if I can convince another colleague, I will. Cycling is great.”
